Do you feel successful in most areas of your life, except when it comes to managing your weight?
Do you feel stuck in a cycle of overeating and then engaging in restrictive diets?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, confused, and exhausted from constantly thinking about trying to lose weight?
What if I told you that these issues are not really about the food at all?
I’m Mary Perry, and as a registered dietitian, I have counseled thousands of clients to heal their relationship with food. I personally know what it’s like to feel stuck when eating feels overwhelming and unmanageable. This book is a compilation of my own story and the transformational experiences as I healed my relationship with food, as well as the insights I’ve gained from years of coaching clients.
This book is not about what to eat or the most magical diet. It’s about examining what food means to you; identifying how your mindset, thoughts, and emotions impact your choices; and learning how to transform your relationship with food, step by step.
So if you’re ready to create a relationship with food that enhances your life, this book provides strategies to help you get started and support you along the way.
I found the book to be approachable and an entertaining read. The book covers a difficult and typically not openly discussed topic and it does so with grace. It motivated me to perform some introspection on my eating habits without a fear of judgement from the Mary. I think the book is an excellent primer for someone who wants to modify or understand their relationship with food. Mary has a great and dry sense of humor!
I have struggled with weight issues since childhood. Although I've had some success, it's remained a significant challenge in my life. Mary Perry provides a fresh perspective on weight and well-being that will be of tremendous help to anyone who is trying to establish a healthy relationship with food and their weight. I highly recommend this book!
