Bailly Morse

Project Manager

Bailly Morse is a project manager at PYP and guides authors seamlessly through the process of publication. She holds a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College and an MFA in Creative Fiction from Southern New Hampshire University.

Bailly is the author of more than seven books, including Fortune’s Flight, Renegade Ransom, Revisited, and the play Holidazed. She self-published her first novel of historical fiction at the tender age of 14, and followed up with a sequel at age 16. She is also a playwright and has had the pleasure of seeing three of her plays performed in theaters in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Describing herself as ‘obsessed with all things theater,’ she has been involved in theater since she was in sixth grade and has continued to act and work behind the scenes. Bailly also serves on the board of a local community theater.

Bailly’s talents and creativity are not limited to writing and acting. She enjoys painting and crafting, cooking, and inventing new gluten-free recipes. Upbeat and empathetic, Bailly describes her superpower as the ability to always look on the bright side of things and to use laughter and humor to get through hard times. She and her family live in Hartford County Connecticut. They share their home with two cats, Doc Brown and Marty McFly, who allow the family to live in the house ‘so long as they’re showered with the praise and affection they so justly deserve.’

A Q&A with the Publish Your Purpose Team

1. How did you come to work with PYP?

I found the listing online and immediately thought “Well that’s it. That’s my dream job right there.” And after that I made it my mission to join this fantastic company. I was surprised but thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with Jenn and the PYP team. It’s not every day you get offered your dream job!

2. What do you enjoy the most about your work?

I love learning about people, what drives them, what inspires them, and what makes the happiest. This is such a great way to engage with such a wide variety of people and really get to know them through their words.

3. What are your favorite books or genre?

I enjoy so many different genres, it’s like trying to pick a favorite cat (they are all my favorite). I read a lot of historical fiction, science fiction, humorous novels, and non-fiction books about historical events.

4. How do you spend your free time?

Acting in community theater is a favorite past time of mine. And working on my own writing.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be?

Dr. Jane Goodall

6. What is one thing very few people know about you?

I like to listen to 1950s rock and roll music while I cook.

7. How would you define your purpose?

To encourage others to see the very best in themselves.
